Methodology

Short version: we prioritize practical restaurant defaults, published nutrition, and clear tradeoffs.

What this site is for

  • Restaurant decision support for smaller appetite, protein-forward eating, and variable-tolerance days.
  • Practical defaults, swaps, caution notes, and short order scripts people can reuse in real life.
  • Informational guidance only. GLP Dining does not provide diagnosis, treatment, dosing, or medical advice.

Scoring logic

Protein density is calculated as (protein / calories) * 100.

  • `proteinDensity >= 5` adds `protein-dense`
  • `fat > 25g` adds `higher-fat`
  • `sugar > 10g` adds `higher-sugar`
  • Additional GLP tags include `gi-gentle`, `sauce-on-side`, `small-portion-win`, and `high-volume`.

Curation lanes

  • Best picks: protein-forward choices with fewer tradeoffs.
  • Works with swaps: strong base orders that improve with simple modifications.
  • Proceed with caution: usable in a pinch but higher in sugar, fat, or sodium.

Data notes

  • Most orders come directly from official nutrition rows or are calculated from official menu components.
  • When a restaurant does not publish enough detail for a clean calculation, we treat those numbers as approximate internally instead of presenting a certainty badge.
  • Symptom and medication pages are informational only and include extra disclaimers because tolerance varies by person.
  • We review and update pages when the source data or ordering logic changes enough to affect the recommendation.
  • GLP Dining Editorial Team reviews content against this methodology and the editorial policy before publishing.

How To Read This

Transparent scoring, not certainty theater

We would rather show the tradeoffs than imply a meal is universally safe, perfect, or medically endorsed.

Expand

Restaurant guidance is grounded in published nutrition or explicit calculation notes when exact rows are not available.

Protein-forward and smaller-portion cues are editorial heuristics, not treatment claims.

Source links and restaurant pages should be checked when menus or nutrition tables change.
